About Temi

From the Celebrant (Get to know me better!)

Hi Fam, I am so excited and honored to have you celebrate my 40th birthday with me. As I embark on another trip around the sun, or another excuse to eat cake all day, I thought I'd share a piece of my life, passions, quirks, and dreams that make me who I am.

About Temi

My Life in a Nutshell

Born & Raised:
Proudly Naija, born and raised in Surulere, Lagos. Ijebu personified (the thrifty part not the party stereotype lol! I am very shy at parties). But yes, I say it every time I introduce myself at work, ORIGINALLY from Nigeria!
Family First:
Always family first after My Creator and Almighty God. I'm married to my best friend and boo of life, Seun, who cracks me up day in day out. His ability to make me break out a smile in good and challenging times is such a blessing! I thank God every day. I am a super-duper proud mum to our intelligent and beautiful young ladies Morayo Ololade and Demilade Taraoluwa. They stress me o (side-eye lol), but I love them beyond words. I have an older brother, Dami the Prof and a younger sister, Tolu, supportive parents and parent-in laws; amazing in-laws on both sides of my family and many nieces and nephews by blood and other family I have acquired throughout life. I love you all and thank you for being there for me!
Forever Optimist:
I am a glass-half full kinda gal. My happy place is when I am able to put smiles on people’s faces or pull people out of despair or tough situations however I can. I believe in spreading joy, finding good in every situation, and celebrating life's little (and big!) moments. I don’t know how to stay angry or spend time holding grudges, who has time, but don’t try me o…Just Kidding!
Favorite Quote:
You become what you believe!
Travel Lover:
I love to travel, and I am just getting started. I have a goal to visit 20 of the tallest towers/buildings in the world in 10 years, I have visited 3 so far. I want to learn 4 languages (Korean, Portuguese, French and Italian). I have been trying to learn these languages and still a beginner after almost a year…I don’t think Duolingo is working, God help me…SMH!
How I Recharge:
Three THINGS 1. Quiet time…those moments after the kids have gone to bed...THE BEST. 2. Planning & organizing an event or a trip…somehow this is stressful for people, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE doing research for ideas, activities, décor, NAME IT even if it’s not my event or trip lol! 3. Being around people who genuinely care about me.
Quirks:
I can cook anything on this earth but CANNOT bake to save my life!
Favorite Game:
Scrabble, played this game with my dad all the time and still play today
Guilty Pleasure:
K-Drama, what’s there to feel guilty about…please o!
The Soundtrack of My Life:
Even with all the latest jamz and hits, my favorite song of all time is “He is Able by Deitrick Haddon”. I will sing and dance to this song on repeat every day. I am also a sucker for Ed Sheeran and Tori Kelly songs, I think they are just talented!
What I wanted to be as a kid:
A Song Writer, yes, I love music so much. ALAS…today I am in the IT Audit & Compliance field, what an Irony but God dey!!!
Dreams/Burning Desires:
1. Run a property development company. 2. Setup my birthday party planning company to organize quarterly birthday parties for children in orphanages.
Hidden Talents:
I can make a whole delicious meal from an almost empty pantry/fridge, I will experiment and somehow it comes out nice. I can cook food for almost a week with only $10 yes I am that good, well also thrifty like that haha! I can also pack clothes enough for a large luggage and fit it in a carryon…Seun is amazed every time!

What's Next for me:

I believe in growth so I'm constantly evolving, learning, and seeking out new experiences.

I also want to spend more time with my nuclear and extended family far and wide. Life gets so busy you miss out on things that matter! Maybe start working on some of those my dreams/burning desires 😊!

I'm thrilled to be sharing these milestone birthday memories with all of you. Whether you're here for the cake, the stories, fun or just to laugh at my sub-par dance moves, I'm grateful for your presence in my life. Cheers to 40!!!
